Artisan Sourdough Bread

3 cups flour white whole wheat, whole wheat, unbleached, or a combo 
1 ¼ cups warm water* 
3/4 cup active sourdough starter 75%-100% hydration (I prefer 75%) 
1 tablespoon honey 
1 ½ teaspoons salt

Episode 5 Christmas Morning Casserole

Christmas Morning Casserole

12 eggs 
2 cups milk 
Salt and pepper to taste 
2 cups shredded cheese ( your choice) 
1 pound meat (cooked sausage/bacon/ham) 
1 thawed bag potatoes O’Brien ( potatoes, onions, peppers) 
1 tbsp parsley 
1 tsp dill 

Preheat oven @350 

Spray oven safe casserole dish (9x13) 

Empty potatoes, sprinkle meat and 1 cup of cheese 

In a bowl, beat milk, salt/pepper, and eggs and pour on top of meat and potatoes. 

Sprinkle remaining cup of cheese and parsley/dill in top. 

Bake for 45-55 minutes. Bake only until middle is cooked and set. 

-this casserole can be made the night before and stored in fridge until time to bake-

Episode 2

Grandma Shirley's Pecan Pie

2/3 cup sugar

1/4 tsp salt

2 cups pecans

1 cup Light Corn Syrup

3 eggs

1/2 cup melted butter

2 regular "shallow" pie shells

 

Combine all ingredients except pecans.  Place 1 cup of pecans in each pie shell.  Evenly distribute mixture and pour over pecans.  Bake at 350 degrees for 40 minutes.  For a nut free version replace pecans with crushed pretzels pieces.
